From digital workplace research participants: “Why I participate”

…… Part of The Basics series. First published in September 2013 ……

Why do people participate in my research?

See it like it is

People are sharing why they decided to participate in this year’s survey. One of my favorites is this one:

  • “To ensure that results are not overly skewed towards organizations with a positive story to tell!”

Prepare the future

  • “To get a feeling and new ideas to go forward with.”
  • “To watch activities I’m responsible for, because I’m involved in IT strategic plan for digital workplace.”
  • “We are interested because at our company we see social innovation as a vital part of the new network, where as a utility company we used to connect people hard wired.”
  • “My interests lie in learning how Facebook/YouTube cultural expectations bleed over into and influence social business expectations.”

Be part of the community

  • “To participate in the larger community.”

Plan the next steps

  • “We have taken the journey from a traditional, to a collaborative and to the current social Intranet. To continue the evolution and deliver true value for the business, a full context-aware and integrated digital workplace is what’s on my mind.”
  • “We are in the midst of evaluating social intranet and talent management options. Would love to be a part of the survey. We definitely could make great use of the resulting data.”
