Digital workplace survey – a resounding success
The survey closed with participation from over 360 organizations around the world. This year was different from previous years for 3 reasons:
- The survey was only open for 5 weeks (instead of 10 as in the past).
- It was guided by an active Advisory Board of practitioners.
- It was loudly and unambiguously focused on the “digital workplace” as defined here.
Intranet people – the new strategic players in the digital workplace
Intranet practitioners, many of whom have participated over the last 6 annual surveys (first one in 2006), are clearly positioned to become strategic players in the broader digital workplace (which includes but is not limited to the intranet).
Why? Because intranet practitioners have long been the people in organizations with the broadest and deepest insight into what people are doing “digitally-speaking”.

Many people around the world supported the survey through tweets, blog posts and announcements to LinkedIn groups. I cannot begin to list everyone. Many many thanks to all of you!
Why do organizations participate?
Organizations who participated in the survey this year had six major reasons:
- Benchmark and get buy-in: “Decision-makers value this kind of data and insight”

- Compare ourselves to others: “Get a realistic perspective on our case”

Benchmark and get buy-in: “Decision-makers value this kind of data and insight”
